Our groundbreaking product, Aerolink®, makes OnBoard Security the undisputed leader in securing Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) communications. Whether running in software or deeply integrated with cryptographic acceleration hardware, Aerolink provides the optimal mix of automotive security and performance.
Aerolink has been selected to provide security and privacy for the 2017 Cadillac CTS, the first commercially available vehicle with V2V capabilities. Among other early adopters, Renesas Electronics has included Aerolink in their R-Car V2X reference design. It has also been successfully implemented in the majority of Ann Arbor Safety Pilot vehicles through a program sponsored by the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI).
Our Chief Technology Officer, William Whyte, is the long-time technical editor of the IEEE 1609.2 standard that defines the security and privacy requirements for all US vehicles. We also have extensive experience in security credentials management systems (SCMS) and public key infrastructure (PKI) providing consulting services to national providers of V2X implementations.
Built on Security Standards
- Aerolink supports the secure message formats and processing as defined in IEEE 1609.2 and ETSI TS 103 097 vehicle to vehicle security standards.
- Aerolink implements extensions to the secure message formats for certificate management, as agreed on by the Vehicle Infrastructure Integration Consortium (VIIC) and other groups.
- We are an active and influential member of ETSI, US DOT Vehicle Test Bed Affiliation, Car 2 Car Communications Consortium, and OmniAir.
Interoperable & Portable
- Aerolink is compatible with a wide variety of processors, architectures, operating systems, and hardware accelerators.
- It includes native support for multiple applications with transparent certificate management.
- Unlike other implementations, Aerolink is deployed in a directory structure containing shared libraries, headers, documentation, and demo applications for non-RPM compatible Linux and Windows ports.
